My 3 year old niece is insanely nerdy. I buy and read her all the Avengers books I can. She watching avengers cartoons, Spider-man, and wants to be FireStar for halloween.
But recently I realized… She had no idea who Phil Coulson was. He never appears in the cartoons she watches. She’s not old enough to see the movies. He never appears in the books I bought her.
So I made this book for my niece so that next time she comes over she can see the best honorary Avenger there is.

Headcanon: this is Phil Coulson’s dad. His love of Captain America was something that he passed on to his son, Philip Coulson, Jr. In fact those mint condition vintage Captain America cards? Those were originally Phil Sr.’s cards.
That’s why getting to meet Captain America, work with him and everything was such a big deal to Phil Jr. It reminded him of his connection to his father, the shared love they had for this heroic icon, and he couldn’t help but smile and think, “Man, if only Dad could see me now.”
